It seems no matter what comes out of the box, a Surly is made in its own vibe. I purposely booked flatbar Preambles with the intention of doing drop bar/gravel/altbar conversions. It runs a bit cheaper than the drop bar Preamble, and the color is arguably better. This build was outfitted with Microshift flappy paddle 1x8 shifters, a sunrace short cage DH rear derailleur and some Tektro road pull disc calipers.
